I found one program that worked well by converting to PDF file and it worked, but no other program works.
the program that worked is called MyInvoices & Estimates Deluxe....version 9.0.0....File/Convert to PDF works....
so I know Adobe Acrobat works, just can't get it to work when using any other program.
Adobe is IMPOSSIBLE to talk to.....you can't talk to anyone there. If you have a problem with an Adobe product ...good luck
Any help would be GREEEEAAAATLY appreciated!!
Maybe O Bama could fix it.....he seems to have all the answers. | 118 Redrider, on Nov 10, 2008 8:47:14 pm GMTI have the same problem.
Can't download in IE7 or Firefox.
I created another user and put that user in the Admin Group.
I can download from the new acct. but the original user is still a no-go. | 122 willow, on Nov 24, 2008 5:50:07 pm GMTHi, i have been surfing the net for a friend of mine. She has the same problem. Everything seems to download fine until you wanna find the file.
Was just wondering if you can up with any solutions on how to solve this very annoying prob.
Look forward to hearing from you | 123 Tdog, on Nov 28, 2008 9:06:18 pm GMTI had the same problem, and I found the solution. I think AVG did something to Internet Explorer's security settings, so I uninstalled it and went here:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/...
"Firefox 3 may block downloads of all executable files if the Windows Internet security option, "Launching applications and unsafe files" is set to "Disable". This setting is misleading, since downloading is also blocked. This security option is available on Windows Vista and Windows XP systems with Internet Explorer 7 installed. To change the setting, open Internet Options (via Control Panel or from Internet Explorer -> Tools) and click the Security tab. With the Internet zone icon highlighted, click the Custom level... button. A list of security settings for the Internet zone will appear. Find the "Launching applications and unsafe files" setting (under Miscellaneous) and select "Prompt (recommended)" "
Changing the security settings fixed the problem. I also disabled Firefox's automatic virus scan. Make sure downloads are enabled in the security settings as well. Good luck. | 214 Trish, on Jul 19, 2009 4:36:23 pm BSTHi folks......I followed Tdog's advice below and then an alteration to Firefox Settings of my own and it instantly worked so I can now file downloads. If you are using Explorer there will be an equavilent action to the settings somewhere. These were both easy and did not involve uninstalling anything ! So first do what Tdog suggests and follow on to (2) after.

THEN.....(2) Open Firefox. Go to Options - Click Main. Check the option "Show Downloads when downloading a file" (it will be checked anyway) and Check the option "Always ask me where to Save Files". When you next download and Save you'll be able to save to Desktop. This worked. If you want to file the Download just right click - Send to Documents. Open Documents from the Task Bar location. The downloaded file will be at the top the unfiled Docs. list. so just drag the download into your Folder of choice on the left ! Then delete the download on the Desktop if you wish. Hey Presto. Works a treat! | 215 Trish, on Jul 19, 2009 4:59:13 pm BSTOmission in the additional instruction for Firefox settings - at the end of post after T-Dogs instructions
in (2).....when you open Firefox that should read "Go to Tools -Options". |

I can watch them populate the download folder, then they disappear. I'm using Vista Business. This just started a couple of weeks ago. It's not happening on my XP machines, only Vista. Both machines have all updates and are using Panda Antivirus.
Help! | Come on ...Guys i m using Vista and have no problems with it, actually when it downloads the downloaded file save in Downloads Folder, and if you can not find it why can't you search for it that's the easiest way.any way there is another thing that when you download file and do not choose a location than it goes in (Temp Folder) which you can find in >>C:/Windows>>>Temp. Good Luck |

| 156 Pete, on Mar 9, 2009 11:08:41 am GMTYou mean YOUR firefox doesn't have that issue. I and several other posters clearly ARE having the issue with firefox. |
| 159 Gander7, on Mar 12, 2009 12:51:43 am GMTActually it is the truth because I can this problem with both IE and firefox. |
| 166 Mike, on Mar 25, 2009 8:54:58 pm GMTThe issue IS with Firefox too. I know because I have BOTH IE7 & Firefox and NEITHER can download. The problem is in the Internet Options Security settings, it won't let you change from Medium-High to just Medium. I change it and it always goes back. |
| 187 tommycee, on Apr 29, 2009 6:10:33 pm BSTThis does happen with firefox im afraid, my son uses it on his laptop and cannot get anything to download, he tried with ie and got exact same result, we will try the avg fix and see what happens | 196 maz, on Jun 19, 2009 7:49:42 am BSTSorry mate but that's a load of bullshit. Firefox does not have this download problem. a dialogue box pops up, right click and go to file location. An utter lie mate! | 200 caye, on Jun 23, 2009 6:59:43 am BSTNot true: both IE and F have this problem! |

| 208 summer_782, on Jul 12, 2009 7:30:15 pm BSTThis is not a lie, or incorrect. The problem does exist with firefox. In fact, my problem started with Firefox. I could still download with IE for a while. Now I can't download with either browser. | 249 John, on Oct 16, 2009 10:35:27 pm BSTI had this problem with Firefox. It is just an issue with the download settings. Go to Tools - Options - Main - and change the download setting to always ask me where to save files. I imagine there's similar option on IE. | 253 Alana, on Nov 1, 2009 11:21:02 am GMTI just tried this, the same problem is occuring! :S Do you know of any other solutions? :) |
