You may not see it but it just might be there, try to print or print preview.
It's a bug with Word, try to update.

I don't know what you mean by clipart button.
When I go to insert, I click on clipart, a window opens on the right inside of my text, I select what I wish, click on it and enter. My clipart does not dissapear. You must also choose the correct clipart format, .gif is the most common.
