I can get to all my original desktop icons through running the new explorer.exe that I copied from another PC. BUT none of the icons or the start button appear on the desktop - I am only getting into the desktop file. I can manipulate the desktop through the control panel, but the desktop itself is non-responsive to anything. I can use all my programs and everything is running fine... I just have to go through task manager to run the explorer.exe file to get to the desktop folder... Is there any way to get the desktop restored? HELP!

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0
