Hello,

I'm desperately trying to install Windows XP onto my Intel-powered MacBook Pro.

I lost my original Windows XP Pro copy and therefore downloaded a pristine version of it.

The problem is the following: how do I get it to work after creating the Windows partition on Boot Camp. I burned it as an ISO image but it doesn't seem to recognize the CD...

Help would be really appreciated!

Thanks

Configuration: Mac OS X
Firefox 3.0.6

The iso image is used input to burn a multi-file CD version of the XP disk. I made the same mistake with my first Linux iso file. I don't know what the options are on the Mac it should be something like "Burn a CD from a disk image" and use the iso file as input. Good Luck

Hi,

I'm wondering if you were able to successfully install windows xp pro (which you said you downloaded) in Boot Camp. I just purchased Windows XP Pro with a serial key to install on my macbook pro. Unfortunately, my son got a hold of the CD/DVD, and scratched it....now the computer won't read it!!!!!

Where were you able to get a download of Windows XP Pro?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Here is a direct quote regarding replacement disks:

"To request replacement hardware or software, contact the Microsoft Supplemental Parts team at the appropriate contact number that is provided in the "Contact Information" section. You must be in possession of the product (if it is damaged or defective) and be able to provide proof of purchase. The customer service representative will advise you of any replacement costs or shipping and handling fees that may be charged. If a product is no longer under warranty, the replacement item may no longer be available."

Hope this helps!
