Windows XP stops loading

Hello,



When I turn my computer on the Windows XP screen comes up with the loading bar that bounces back and forth. After about 5 seconds the bar stops and it just freezes and nothing happens. Ive tried leaving it for a while and nothing happens. The time I had my computer on before this I just went to shutdown and nothing strange happened. If you could helpp me I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello


See aall the fans are working, reboot and press F8 to enter safe mode selection. If that works, reboot and F8 again, then select 'last known good configuration' to see what happens.

Hello there. i Had the same problem. Here is the following usuall problems.
1. The boot files in your computer is broken, you need To reinstall Windows
2. Spyware have entered Your computer.
3. Your PCI or Busscontroller is broken

hey have the same problem ,.

xp boot screen loads bounces back and forth5 or so times freezes and restarts. i have windows installed on a 160g diamond 10 maxtor SATA hard drive. when i try to re-install windows , the install says it cant find my harddrive. i dont have a floppy drive on the computer so i cant copy the drivers over, dose anyone have any other ideas?, thanks for any help! :p

Did you try booting into safe mode as advised above? If so and same, make sure you do not have any cd in drive, usb connected, or floppy disk. Disconnect all peripherals from you and try booting into safe mode or last known good config. If you able to boot into safe mode, try doing a system restore.

i tried loading windows xp on pc, it stops at the green screen showing at the bottom windows is starting, its just stops there without showing any options

Hi,
I have the same problem with WinXP 64bit.
Things I have observed:
1)The problem has a random nature. Some times it starts just fine, but when it hangs once it won't star by just retrying. (or I wasn't insistent enough)
2)Starting in safe mode, setting up a full system disc scan and restarting solves the problem, even if the scan is canceled on start up. The problem occurs again after a while even if the scan is finished successfully.
3)Last night it didn't start even in safe mode. I booted from CD and run chkdsk. It said it found errors. I ran chkdsk with the repair function. It said it didn't finished. Rebooting was successful.
4)I don't have system crashes, there are problems only with starting up. Once it runs it seems to be stable.
