Have u ever know about the windows "sticky key". ur problem will occur if u press the shift key for a bit long or press it for 5 times.

what actually u guys are facing is a windows functionality.

go to control panel -> accessibility options

changes the settings for sticky keys, filter keys and toggle keys... disable it if u dont want the functionality.

I attempted to disable the sticky keys under the Control Panel, Ease of Access Center. However, my keys are still requiring that I hold down the function key to type normal letters. Any other ideas? Could this be a bug?
Thanks for all your help...

My son had the problem today and your solution solved it. My son failed to tell me that he pressed FN+numlk in the first place wich started the problem in the first place. So I pressed both keys again and its fixed.Thanks.

I'm very thankful also. I could not believe it when I started to type and got the number 3 insead of the letter l. I will be very careful to remember hitting Fn and NumLK keys if I ever have the problem again. Got enough stress without having your keys play tricks on you!

My problem exixsts when I use external usb keyboard with the numlock on the external keyboard.
Once I remove the numlock on the external keyboard, the laptop keyboard works fine.
