Cannot open explorer

Hello, I have recently purchased a compaq laptop computer (vista) with Three connection. At home I have BT Broadband. Suddenly I can no longer access the internet either through Three or through wireless connection. Connection shows connected local access only. Three other computers in the house can connect but not mine anyone have any idea how I can fix this. It is still underwarranty but I woulld like a shot at it myself before I ring Compaq.
