The virus/trojan could be preventing you from running the removal program. Did you try it in "safe mode"

Restart the computer - then hit F8 when the Windows logo screen comes up. It will then display a lot of text and slowly boot into a sub-set of Windows. You might be able to then run anti-virus programs. Good Luck

Umm why is it that even after running the tool, and removing the virus, it stil comes up with the message saying that it needs to be removed manually, when i re-scan using the antivurus software? and when i do re-remove it, after a couple of hours, cause thats how long the tool takes, it comes up with a message saying that the virus isnt there to begin with? so why do i keep getting a message saying that it is? am confused x

Are you on Vista? If so try right-clicking the removal tool's icon and select 'run as administartor'.

I did as you suggested xpc man and started in safe mode, and that seemed to work, when i used the tool, it came back saying their was no trojan, and have re ran norton and its doing the same?, as i have deleted the mulitmedia file that was infected, and i deleted limewire ages ago, should that have sorted it? or do you think it may still be on my system?

xx
