Hello,
I started seeing this problem with my Firefox 3.0.5 (on Win XP) over the past month. I don't use wireless, straight DSL Modem. The trigger for me is as follows:
1. I downloaded IE8 Beta in Nov 08.
2. IE8 used to have connection issues, with only the main tab able to connect, and other tabs timing out.
3. I chose "Dial whenever a network connection is not present"
4. IE8 started working fine.
5. Most recently, 2 days ago, I downloaded IE8 RC1.
6. Since then, Chrome and IE8 work fine, but FireFox has issues connecting.

Can anyone please throw light on this issue?
Appreciate it.
Zander

Configuration: Windows XP
FireFox 3.0.5
IE8 RC1
Chrome
Straight DSL (no wireless)

Hi,
check the settings in the Internet options.
or you may check the settings when you open Firefox itself.
