Not showing press key to boot from cd

Hello,
i want to install os...when i inserted and cd and reboot ...it is not asking me "press any to boot from cd" why does this happens ...how to solve that

Configuration: Linux
Firefox 3.0.5

You must change to "boot order" in the BIOS so that it will try to boot from the CD first. You hit the Del or F2 or F10 or F12 key to get into the BIOS to change the boot order. Which key depends on the make of the computer. Some computers like Dell allow you temporarily boot from the CD without a change to the BIOS.

Hai i am having asus mother board and amd athlon but i and cd as first boot option .....but i am still not gertting 'press any key to boot from cd ' when i try to boot with cd...it directly goes to setup

Does you CD drive show in the BIOS? It could be broken or disconnected.

How to see my cd drive broken in bios ....if it is broken what to do
