Hello,
My laptop cannot connect to the internet because of damaged ethernet port. I can say that it's damage because the copper/gold that are used to align with the internet cable wire is lacking. I mean, instead of having 8 "lines",it has only four in it. One of my "computer geek" friends said that it may be the cause why I cannot connect to the internet. Is it possible to replace it with a new one? I know usb can be used for internet connection but I also doubt that it will work with my laptop since I am living far from the city. Hope someone answers. Thanks.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.20

You can buy a USB Ethernet adapter to solve your problem. I think you are confusing a USB Wireless adapter with a USB Ethernet adapter. The one you need is an Ethernet adapter.
