Hey flanker,

first of all which version of MS office you trying to install is it 2003 or 2007. And do you get any error message while installing ? is there any other version of Office already installed? this info could be helpfull.Anyways you could try installing office by completely disabling your Antivirus software if you have any.Or try installing in Safe mode.

Does it matter if i try to install MS OFFICE 2007 into Windows xp sp3???? Could that be a possible reason for it not to run set up?? That seems to be happening here I'm using win xp sp3 and i can't run the set up programs of ms office 2007..

Well what happens is that once i right-click and try to install... the screen gets frozen adn after a while i get a message saying cannot open set up files or cannot run set up files.........

Then i have to close that alert message saying OK and then everything is normal again.

Right-clicking, using windows installer.. nothing worked...

Hi,

Please try to add the registry keys for User Shell folder for HKey Current User and HKey Local Machine from another computer with the same Operating System
