Hello,

I purchased a brand new HP Mini with Windows XP. Apperently it did not come loaded with any form of Virus Protection. I now have a multitude of problems. Sometimes the computer wont load at all. I don't knwo what to do. The computer does not have a Disk Drive to put restore software in and reset the system. Is there a way to complete a full system restore without a restore disk? or do I need to take the computer to a specialist?

Configuration: HP MiNI
Windows XP
Internet explorer

Is this the new Mini 1000 or the mini-note?
I would call the HP help line.
Anyway, the long and short of it is that you may not hear the HP Mini-Note or Mini 1000 mentioned at all if you try to go through the automated voice directory system. So just go ahead and shout “agent” into the phone to speed up the process a bit. When you do finally get to the right person you’ll need to read off your serial number (which should be on the bottom of your computer). You should be able to order a XP restore cd. Good Luck

What's the point of a restore CD!? It's a mini! You'll have to buy an external CD reader to fix the bloody problem anyway. Any other ideas?
