Acer Aspire One ZG5 Netbook New Battery Issue

Hello,

I just bought a new 6-cell battery off Ebay to replace my exhausted factory 3-cell. The computer fires up great, but now it doesn't recognize battery level, nor does it switch over to the battery icon. It always shows the icon as if I was plugged in all the time even when I'm using battery only. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm running Windows XP sp3.

Did you let it charge for the time that it was told in the instructions? It is from 12 to 18 maybe 24hrs depending on the battery. Also you can try taking the battery out (with the laptop off) and put it in againg and and the charger too then turn it on. Hope this will work.
