No "open with" option in Windows XP

Hello,
After my computer's motherboard had to be changed, many programs had to be re-installed, & that was fine, but the 'open with' option has simply disappeared, & no matter what I try nothing works, it's just not there anymore.. I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows XP.. so if you have any suggestions, I'd be grateful if you'd let me know..

Hi,
check if this works for you:
try to highlight the file, and press Shift + Right Click and choose "open with"

Hello tiesdj, thanks for your suggestion. But of course I've been trying that ever since the problem has occurred, & quite repeatedly. It just doesn't happen.. as if the very option itself doesn't exist anymore within Windows XP..
