Hello
I think you're confused as to what html formatted email is. From Outlook help: When you create a message in Outlook, the default format is HTML. This format supports text formatting, numbering, bullets, alignment, horizontal lines, pictures (including backgrounds), HTML styles, stationery, signatures, and linking to Web pages. Because the most popular e-mail programs use HTML, it is the recommended format for Internet mail. That doesn't mean it takes your html code and turns it into webpage. Perhaps using a Form, Template, or Stationary would suit your needs better. Remember too, not all email clients support html formatted messages, which means, that if you send an html formatted message with links, special character, etc, the client will show it as gibberish.

Navigate to the webpage URL - Click File > Send > Page by E-mail
That will give you what you are looking for Note: Send it to an external account (like your home or hotmail account) to see what it looks like first! |
I am having the same problem with Outlook 2007. Am trying to send a webpage and I tried File>Send>Page by Email but that only pastes the IE logo into the message body. Any help would be appreciated.
|
I too have tried the same to no avail. Also having searched on the net for help I'm under the impression Outlook can't be used for this purpose without using an add-on programme such as go-mail because Outlook isn't designed to deliver mass-mailers.
I'd appreciate any help if there is a solution to the outlook option tho'... |
I figured it out. I opened a new message and then went to the Options tab > Format > and then select "Aa HTML" It works now and I am able to send both word documents and also web pages via email so that they appear in the body of the email as opposed to being an attached document or attached link. Hope this helps you guys too. |

could you detail a little bit more. when I open a new message, it already is in Aa HTML format then how to insert your html page ? thanks
|
I am having the same problem. Outlook is set to HTML but still does not show content as html once it has been pasted into the window.
is it a simple case of cut and paste from a PDF document? where am I going wrong? Thanks. |
Please send more detailed instructions for adding a webpage in the body of Outlook. |
Unfortunately I have discovered you cannot edit the html code as we previously could in Outlook 2003 and earlier. Check out this link for more info:
http://www.jasonmalwitz.com/blog/2007/09/12/html-email-with-outlook-2007-or-not/ What you can try is opening Explorer 7, browsing to you r webpage, selecting the Page dropdown next to the Tools dropdown on the far right. Select Send Page by Email. This will open the webpage in Outlook, but many formatting problems may occur. |
Yeah concluded the same after some research over forums : simply not possible to send HTML pages in email body with outlook 2007 (possible with outlook express, not sure about outlook 2003) |
To send the HTML page in Outlook:
1. Navigate to the URL you want to send in your browser (so that you are actually viewing the html page content). 2. Drop down the File menu on your browser's toolbar, and choose Send > Page by e-mail. 3. Outlook will launch a message with the body containing the html content of the web page. 4. Send the message. |
If I understand correctly in MS word you not able to use the mail receiept function like you were able to do in office 03 version. I had the same issue when I went to office 07 pro... After doing some digging I figure out the command was there, but it had to add it - here are the steps..
By default, Word 2007 doesn’t have the useful Send to Mail Recipeint option available on the toolbar. Here’s how to add it. 1. Click the small down arrow on the right-hand side of the Quick Access Toolbar, and select More Commands. 2. Under the Choose commands from list, select All Commands. 3. Select Send to Mail Recipient, and then click Add. 4. Click OK. Now I can create a HTML document in Word, etc.. and then send it in the body of my email. It includes the built links, etc... |
Whats the format of the end user??? Is it set to HTML?? If it's set to Plain or Rich text it will look like gibberish when received on the other end?? I would start here first. |

Is there a way to somehow send a link in Outlook but instead, send out a masked link to another page?
I have a link for example: http://www.microsoft.com but the user should be able to see: http://www.amazon.com and if he clicks on http://www.amazon.com in his email, the link that is displayd is www.microsoft.com I know there is a way to do this. I'm using Outlook 2003! Apparently, if I can write HTML code in my Outlook 2003, it should work! Let me know your thoughts. |
error is sending mail say that smtp is not correct. wht is smtp in outlook. |
Quit wasting time with MS products.
1) Download and install Mozilla Thunderbird (it's free) . http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ 2) Choose insert >html 3) Paste html code with absolute links to images (<img src="http://mysite.com/myimage.jpg">) on server into email body, i.e. 4) Test compatibility in something online like: http://litmusapp.com/ Outlook 2007 has many, many problems due to using a Word rendering engine. You may try using a known working template first from: http://www.campaignmonitor.com/templates/ |
