NTLDR is missing

Hello,

I have a toshiba labtop with windows xp, after some downloads it went blank and says NTLDR is missing and to ctrl,alt,del,to restart and just repeats that. I have no boot up disk or recovery disk kinda computer slow. pls help.

Hi,

it sounds like the masterboot record has become corrupt.

you need to get a hold of an operating system disk.

XP Professional? Home Edition?

Boot to this disk and skip the "Press R for recover console" and run a repair once past there.
