I just changed my notebook recently and my new notebook use windows vista & doesn't have windows live messenger in it so I have to install one. I installed one from website not knowing that it was the new version one, Windows live messenger 9.0. Somehow all my collections of emoticons, winks, background, & skins are not there. I try to install the windows live messenger plus 2009, but they are still not there. what happen?? usually doesn't matter which computer or notebook you use all your data & collections of emoticons are still there, stored in windows live messenger.
I even uninstalled them and then installed the one that's the same as in my old notebook, windows live messenger 8.5 & windows live messenger plus 4.7. still, all my collections of emoticons, winks, background & skins aren't there. please help me how to get them back?

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.4

Try googling for a Messenger Backup pack, this should locate your emoticons, and the other user, please note, i've migrated up through messengers from MSN Messenger 5 to Windows Live Messenger 9, and still use the same set of emoticons and winks, as a successful WLM Install will automatically detect the emoticons and the wink packs.

There is an option in the menu bar - tools - options - messages, and then click the box in show emoticons.... and voila!! it works :D
