Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite M40 roughly 4 years old. The hard drive has died once and been replaced (under warranty) and it's been acting up a bit lately so I decided to reinstall everything and start from scratch. I am not overly technical but managed to access the BIOS screen and change the boot sequence so that I could use the recovery CDs that came with the computer. I used the express media recovery disk, cleared the partitions and it ran and then I installed the second disk which got roughly 50% of the way through the installation process and then gave me an error message that recovery of pre-installed software failed and to use the 1st cd again. I did, followed the same process and now the second CD only gets about 10% through and the I get the same error message. I did a bit more research and have found that I should of created a back up cd before I did this (wasn't aware)
I don't know what to do now! I'm worried that I have completely messed up my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
