If this is a desktop PC - you have easy access to the CMOS button battery. Take it out for one minute and then replace it. The password will erased.

There is a small button style battery that powers the CMOS functions on the PC - things like date and time and the memory of the hardware devices that are attached to the PC. The battery is located on the motherboard - mounted either vertically or horizontally to the board. Removing this battery, for 30 secs to a minute, will normally erase the CMOS memory. If you have used a boot-up password that is CMOS (or BIOS) based - removing the battery will delete the password.
Please note that some laptops have password protection that is NOT CMOS memory based and can't be reset by this method. Also many if not most laptops have the button battery buried deeply in the case and can be hard to remove.
