Hello,
My Laptop keeps shutting down on me after it has finished the startup process. Or it will stay on for a while and shut down after a while and it takes a few tries to come back on, it will start and then shut off whether the power cord is in or not. All lights come on and then nothing and when it does come on it goes again. Can it be because of a virus or is it the power supply

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.5

It can actually be both.
But it can also be a problem done with overclocking. If you don't know what overclocking is, it's changing the computers hardware to operate out of manufacturer specifications. Its done to get some extra performance.

If you cannot get into vista, and everything is left at their default clocks (not-overclocked), go ahead and reinstall Windows Vista.
