Orion Power Supply

Hello,


I recently took my computer into the shop because I was told my power source was causing it to shutdown. I was told that I needed a new power supply by the computer technician. I don't remember what brand was in before but the new brand is Orion. It is 400watts and I have an eMachine T6420 with 2.21 GHz and 896 Ram. My computer is still rebooting and I don't know what the problem can me.


Please help me.

I can't say if the PSU is the reason for the reboots but I searched online and found 3 vendors selling a 400W HEC Orion PSU for less than $20. At that price the PSU can't be very good.

That is not to say the PSU is the cause. Emachines are known to have crappy PSUs so maybe the tech just assumed that was the problem.

Do you get any messages before the reboot? If so, post them.
