Hello,
I need to understand how to determine whether a USB port is configured for a 1.0 or 2.0 device, and if only 1.0, how to configure for 2.0. I checked the help topics in MS and couldn't find instructions. Thanks.

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

A Windows computer with USB 2.0 will have a "USB Enhanced Host Controller" entry in Device Manager in the USB tab.
There is no way to add Motherboard USB 2.0 support to a computer that does not have 2.0 spec hardware. Sometimes you can have a USB 2.0 compliant MB that doesn't have the correct drivers and or BIOS and it will not support 2.0.

You can add PCI riser card with 2 to 4 USB 2.0 ports that has its own hardware controller if you have a free PCI slot.
