I think the problem comes from either your graphic card or your ram

I believe they are made by HP? There are several people now experienceing similar problems with their HP laptops.. first the wireless goes out and then no screen.. and you basically have an expensive paperweight....There are several forums dealing with this problem.. But if it is the same problem.. They do not have a solution.. My laptop will be going in for repair for the 3rd or forth time for the same problem.. I believe they call it the Atlantis/Apollo motherboard issue.. They should be refunding our money, but so far are only offering temporary fixex.. which last approximately 3 months.. if that long.. Good Luck!

Hi, my Compaq Presario V3000 has the same problems: 8 months after purchase wireless was gone; 14 months after purchase screen is gone. The screen did not show anything since yesterday...

This link may or may not pertain to your problem.. If your computer is one of the ones affected by this problem, there are appropriate numbers listed in these forums for you to call and get a replacement computer.. I did... as did several others. Do NOT attempt to call HP techs.. most are from India and are of absolutely no help... trust me on this! Good luck, hope if yours is one of the lemons that you will soon have a new laptop too.

Hi, HEELLLPPP

Just the other day i have the same problem, luckly for me i know how to take a computer apart and repair it myself, and now im stumped. My computer screen want show anything, but my computer is on, the lights are on, hardrive sounds like its on and fan is turning but no display, I spent £60 on a new Nivada Graphics Card from PC World and installed this into my motherboard, Swtiched on and the same thing happened no display!!!, So my guess was that the VGA on the computer was a little dodgy but even with the new card in it still didnt work, i dont want to spend anymore money on a video card or what not or even replace the motherboard, But is there anyway that it is possible to tansfer data from the harddrive onto my laptop because i dont want to loose all of my data and files, Only guess that i have left is that it has a nasty virus.

Somebody Please Help
Please Help.

P.S i cannot see anything on the screen so booting up BIOS Set-up is not an option.

Also My Screen Works Fine.

I got the same problem, if it's a laptopt other than up it might be the ram memory card that it's corrupt or not installed propertly, just reinstall it and turn it on again

I had the same problem. I fixed it by removing my ram module and sharply tapping it against a hard surface a couple of times. This is supposed to "realign" the module because it is having trouble flushing and doing so itself usually from multiple and quick reboots. It worked for me. Try it out

Hello Chrisclarke, I dont have a resolution for the monitor, as I am having the same problem, but as far as transfering ur files to your laptop, you can purchase an enclosure with a usb connector , which ranges from about $20-$40 to convert your internal hard drive to an external and use it as extra storage.

I have recently had the same problem, I bought some new RAM and a new CPU and yet no screen display, I noticed the graphics card fan had stopped spinning , so i bought a new one, and still fails to POST or display the BIOS settings, the only problem left is the motherboard.

For people who are having problems with this, try grounding your motherboard then reconnecting everything.

Got same problem, but i have a computer and i bought the parts bymyself, one by one.

When i went to the shower my computer was working perfectly, when i came back it was shutdown, and when i start ,it wouldn't show anything but computer is running(can't hear windows startup sound)...

the monitor runs perfect on my brothers computer, his screen doesn't work on my comp.

When i bought the ram for the comp. it didn't work, couldn't show anything on monitor but after placing on another slot fixed that problem. Now after 8 months, this problem showe up again but when i change slot it still won't work, i think my ram is damaged or something?

(sorry for bad english)

Yeah, I ALSO have similar problem here.
Basically, I just found out that I couldn't type anything using the keyboard so I tried to restart my laptop.
When I did that, it only displayed a blank black screen.
Oh, I'm also using compaq

It seems I have the same problem with all ur guys. What happen to my laptop is there is a blank in the middle of the screen and then it becomes two parts. Each part cut into three small parts. All of them show the same screen. The UK service will pick up my laptop next monday. But after I saw so many comments on website I think my laptop problem 80% is from the motherboard and Nvidia. Although the laptop still under the warranty, I doubt thy will use many excuses to refuse to replace for free. And even replace it for free, I doubt thy will just repair it temporarily. I think I have to prepare to buy a new one and of course not HP!

It could be your monitor try moving it arount or turning it to a certain angle if not then check to see if your wires are pluged in
