HDMI to DVI (PC), how to do audio?

Hello,

I just got a new 32inch lcd tv and i hooked it up to my PC through HDMI to dvi. and my pc has speakers on it, i know DVI doesnt carry audio, so i plugged in a cable that has a red and white audio pair, and on the other side, it hooks up to your audio port in the pc (i believe its called a 3.5mm jack), I hooked it up from every single rca slot on my tv to the comp, i tried messing with the computer settings, still no sound comes from the speakers in the tv, but speakers work fine when i use it on ps3 cause its just hdmi on the ps3. so how am i going to make this work.

Hello

Please make sure that HDMI and RCA jacks on the TV set work together. I mean they are on the same circuit. You may have connected DVI to HDMI for picture but 3.5 mm jack to RCA connectors for component video input or s-video input.

Other than that, if you play a CD or DVD and do not get sound, then make certain that either digital audio is enabled or you have analog cable running from DVD player to the sound card.

Therefore, please clarify if you get audio from TV speakers when you play mp3 on the hard disk.
