XP (Home) Control Panel

Office23, on Friday 25 April 2008 à 10:56:01
Hello,

Here's a small problem that's had me foxed since a re-install.

Some of the software programmes on my PC do not appear in the Control Panel/Add-Remove programmes menu. For example, Quark Passport.

They are brought up with Belarc Advisor and also appear in C:/Programme Files - but not in Add/Remove items.

Can anyone offer any ideas as to why this might be?

Thanks in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

I don't know what Quark passport is but I will state that not all programs require installation. Some are capable of running as stand alone and can even be moved about without them failing. These are usually small programs that don't need many Windows resources to operate.

I have a utility called SIW working on my system and it doesn't show in control panel.

I too have many things running but do not show in the add/remove, as long as they are working fine, leave them be!
I remove something not there, find the folder and look for the uninstall exe
