Hello,
I just had a problem with a virus or a worm, I suppose. It happened when I exidentaly pressed ok while receiving some file throuh skype. It had .com extension. Then some windows seemed like mulitplying themselfs in background.
While I was working, the same thing, the file I received was being sent to my Skype contacts . I deleted Skype, so that my contacts would not get infected. Now I'm trying to remove the problem using nod32 ad-aware, sby bot, but I don't know if it will be effective.
Anyone else had this problem?
Please help
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,

My friend brought me his laptop to look at. He received file through Skype, and opened. When I boot the PC up I saw message saying that your PC is infected and you need to download Antivirus, and redirected to some kind of dodgy website. It also turns Antivirus (Bitdefender) we had running. So I tried to run PC on Safe mode, but as soon as Safe mode comes up, PC stops responding. Next day, PC stopped working and only blue window comes up before Windows shows up. So, decided to reinstall Windows from scratch. But new installation can not see HDD. Formatted HDD via BIOS, did not help. Took HDD out and put on another PC and it works fine, and Windows installation goes OK. When I put it back on infected PC, it can not see it again.
