My C drive was infected by autorun.inf. I knew it from Avira Antivir, but I couldn't delete it. Then, I deactivate the Guard because I disturbed by the prompt from the ANtivir. After reading Kanan's procedure, I try to solve the problems. I run my comptr in safe mode, then restore it and restart it. However, when I scanned again with Avira ANtivir in normal mode, it didn't detect autorun.inf. I think the problems still exist. Now, I can't use Ctrl+Alt+Del, can't see hidden files, and can't perform Run-Regedit in normal mode.
Please help me.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.16

I always use KillGodzilla.exe for removing autorun.inf in hard disks. It is originally made to remove the 'Taga Lipa Are' virus which is also known as Hacked by Godzilla.

You can also try it. It scans the drives of the computer and automatically deletes detected autorun.inf. No installation needed, just run the application. I think you would need to restart your computer for the deletion to take effect or just restart the explorer.exe process or even just logging off the current user.

For pendrives, you just need to unmount it after the KillGodzilla scan is done.

I could email the application to you if you want since I could provide the site where I downloaded it. I think it was about 2 years when I had the autorun remover.

Ok. I've created a free rapidshare account to upload the file. Here's the link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/180924812/KillGodzilla.zip

You could delete any autorun.inf with this application.

I've experienced the same problems before because of the 'Taga Lipa' virus (Godzilla). But I wasn't able to regain my task manager.

When you open your web browser, do you notice the 'Taga Lipa Are' in the title bar? If you do, then it was the same virus that bugged me a couple of years ago. I could say you are long been infected with the virus that it damaged now your registry and disabled the task manager.

For some out there, if you have noticed the autorun.inf immediately you could still prevent it from damaging your computer further by deleting it as soon as possible.

Hope this one helps.

Well people i do had this problem, and try this as fallows:-

Go to start button ------> Run ----------> cmd (command screen opens)

(if u r D:\ drive is infected with Autorun.inf then type D: )

D:\attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf

(this command will get into the file Autorun.inf)

D:\del autorun.inf

this will successfully delete the file and u can open the drive (u have to do it to all drives in your computer) :)

1. Open Start>>Run and type cmd and press enter. This will open a command prompt window. On this command prompt window type the following steps.

2. type cd\

3. type attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf

4. type del autorun.inf

5. now type d: and press enter for d: drive partition. Now repeat steps 3 and 4. Similarly repeat step 5 for all your hard disk partition.

Restart your system and your trouble will be fixed.

I FOLLOW THIS STEP AND IT WORKS BUT UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT FOLLOW NO.3 STEP(INSTEAD OF type attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf I TYPE ATTRIB AND THEN type del autorun.inf ).I HAVE NO PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW ON MY LOCAL C: DISK BUT DO IM GONNA HAVE PROBLEM SOMEDAY?WHAT WILL I DO TO DO AGAIN THIS STEP?
