Multimedia audio controller

Hello,ii have a ?mark in my multimedia audio controller when i open the device mngr. thus i don't have any sounds, tried to update the driver but my net can't find one,pls help me find the right driver for it or better yet can i download a new multimedia audio contoller that works with my pc, my board is e210882 intel desktop board d865gbf my os is windows xp, pls help me guys ok ty!

G'Day, I also had to re-install Windows XP SP/2 a couple of weeks ago and lost my audio. Have been literally tearing my hair out until I found this forum earlier 2day. THANK U! THANK U! THANK U! An EXTREMELY grateful Aussie.....!!

LIZ got it right....was missing multimedia audio controller after recent windows XP re-installation. Have an MSI K8N Neo Platinum botherboard w/ AMD Athlon 3000+ chipset, NForce GE3000.

I had the same problem. Couldnt' figure out what is was. What I did was get Uniblue Driver Scanner and it scanned the computer and found the drivers I was missing and "Wella!" I have sound now.
