Hello,
I have a digital sony camera and when I insert the memory stick (in its adapter) into the memory card slot on my computer, nothing happens. It is if I did not have it inserted at all. However, when I hook up the camera to the computer with the usb cord, I am able to read the card and get the photos that way. Any ideas? This is a new camera/memory card/adapter so I have never used it with the computer before now.
Thanks!

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Thanks but I don't think it is the camera because when I connect the whole camera to the computer with the usb cord, I am able to download the photos. It just seems to be when I try to use the memory card and adapter in the computer???

Having a similar issue. Up until today my Dell has had no problems reading my SanDisk 256mb CompactFlash card. I put it directly into the slot...no adapter needed.

Having the same problem and have spent multiple hours working on it this weekend. Nothing suggested has worked yet. Have you found a solution?

I don't even know how to open the floppy/flexbay ports. They both have plastic cover on them. Do all Dell xps 400s have memory card slot?

Ok..i just have a plain ole 2GB Memory stick pro memory card for my sony quickshot right? and i just bought a new hp computer, but when i insert the card into the slot (and there's only one slot for all memory cards mind you), it doesn't work. Keeping that in mind, the green light even lights up when it's inserted, which means it's reading it right? But i just can't find the files anywhere on my computer. nothing pops up to let me know it's reading my memory card..can anyone please help??
