Power up problem on a G4

Hello,

I have a G4 that I can't get to boot. It will power on for 30 seconds, the monitor will show the beginning of the startup screen (the large Apple logo), the fans run, etc. Then everything just shuts down. It's as if I pulled the power cord from the electric outlet. I've read several questions here about bad power supplies, but they all seem to be regarding computers that won't start at all. Mine runs for that initial 30 seconds everytime and then dies. I'd hate to pay $100 for a new power supply & find out that's not the problem. I'd appreciate any advice.

Hello

Try to boot up in SAFE MODE.... (hold the shift key down

until you see the log in window and see in Red Safe etc..

Also some Ram make be flakey... if you have all 4 slot filled...

try to remove ram that does not match each other in speed

and size....
