Help with the command prompt

Hello,
I have a windows vista computer. I need help trying to remove administrator's password. I have done the command prompt and it told me error number 5 or something like that with 5 in it. but I dont know what to do next. I typed my password that I wanted and then it game me error 5 command prompt is not working for me. PPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLeeeeeeessssssseeeeeeeeee help. :)

Well the problem.....ITS UNABLE TO SOLVE

You are NOT and administrator
It must say the following message


SYSTEM ERROR:5

The only way to remove the password is ...Ophcrack
Although I have never used it myself

Ok, I have had the same problem and it is easy to fix.

You need a higher user to do this and the only one high than admin is system, to get access to this you will have to hack vista's logon.

Steps:

1.Boot vista installation disc and go to repair.
2.Open command prompt and type notepad.
3.In notepad click on file and the on open.
4.In the box go to C:\Windows\system32 and change document type to all file.
5.Find file sethc.exe amd rename it to sethc.exe.old
6.Copy cmd.exe and paste it again, it will be called "Copy of cmd.exe".
7.Rename "Copy of cmd.exe" to sethc.exe.
8.Restart your PC.
9.In logon press SHIFT 5 times and cmd will nou apear.
10.In cmd type "Net user administrator *".
11.Then type new password.

PS. No character will show wen you type new password.

I am net user of net cafe .
i want get admin password for internet sotware installation .
i try this tips "Net user Administrator *"
the command proper ask for new password i typed and ask again but
it give massge that

"System error 5 has accure
Access denied "
i have mostly use internet and net cafe owner not give me admin user for software installation

Hey man!

I really need some big time help to get into an administrator account. Ok so my siuation is this......my dad wont let me play shooting games so he put me as a limited account and made him the administrator and set the pass on the hidden admin and also put a password on the bios system. I just need the pass to his account just for liek 10 minutes so i can change mine from limited to administrator then install my game and change it back to limited. IF u can help me i will be sooooooooooooo eexxxxxxtreeeeemeellly thankfUL!!

Dude, i only have sethc.exe.mui and cmd.exe.mui, i dont see any .exe files unless if u mean the application, but the name is cmd and sethc not .exe and they are application not txt files... so which ones do u mean?

Search in the start menu for comand prompt and right click and run as administrator. then try it again

Go onto notepad

type :

START

then save it as cmd.bat

open it and u have command prompt

No you dont need to do al that you can go to the start menu and right click on it and press run as adminastrator then it will work i think

Hi,

You must be logged on as the administrator to change the password, and then you must provided the old password (Correctly), and then provide the new password and it will be done.

But if you use a limited account to change the Administrator password it is not going to work. You can try this if you want to use the limited account, run cmd as the Administrator.

Hey im not having the same prob. but its close, whenever i try to go to my IP on the internet it asks me for a pass/user, but my dad wont remember and its not default, its a cyber power linksys but i dont know how to reset it to default, i already tried reseting my router with no luck, plz help.

i've my machine(pc) with windows xp sp3 professional, the problem is i created a password to log in windows and BIOS but some of my friends changed them and he forgot them. So how can i get the password in my windows admin by using command line without reinstalling it.

Hi,

How to restore administrative password on a computer running windows XP

1. Insert the bootable cd in your machine.
2. click Enter and Accept the terms and condition
3. Do the repair by clicking R
4. Make sure that you keep your eyes on the lower left side to see the installing devices
5. press shift + 10 and immediately a command prompt will appear
6. type the following command NUSRMGR.CPL AND PRESS ENTER
7. This will take you to the users where you will need to pick the account to change the password or to create a new one.
8. Close the window
9. Exit command box and continue with repair.
