Will not detect DVD,

Hello
i just a picked up a new DVD drive for my PC ....Can read and burn Cd roms , but it will not detect DVD,

can somebody provide any help plz...

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Huhh.

if you are using windows Xp, it may be due to the fact that XP doesn't possess a DVD decoder by default

and adding a a cheap hardware will not suit..Better have a software like POWERDVD or upgrade your MEDIAPLAYER if

necessary.

Dear friend i too am getting that problem.
my cd are detected but no dvd is detected...........
so please give me the solution when u get rid of it..........
