Cant connect to msn explorer now

Hello,
all of a sudden i am having difficulty connecting to msn explorer i get a message that i might not be connected to the internet or that the service is down, please try later but i have been trying for a few days to no avail can you shed any light on what can be the matter please

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0
