Problem in changing the settings

Hello,
there went something wrong with my windows vista basic.
when i open any damn file it opens in windows media player with a error.
plz help me out.
i tried to change the settings but it opens in windows media playar only.
plz help

Configuration: Windows Vista

Hi,
right click on the icon, go to "open with" and select the problem you want it to open with!
or it may be that you got a virus in your computer which is causing this!
if so, install an anti-virus and your problem will be solved!
