Hello,
When I put my 2GB SD card in the drive on my computer it reads it but is unable to bring anything up because the computer says it is unformatted. I have tried to reformat using the FAT16 and FAT ways but neither have been successful. It says that the format was unable to be completed. Does anyone know what I should do to fix it ?

Hello
You can't format a partition that large using FAT or FAT16. Try FAT32. FAT16 doesn't support long file names anyway. If you are formatting for use in a camera then insert in the camera an format it from there by using a USB cable. |

I had this problem with my crappy TopRam 2G mini SD -- First, if you have a video camera that takes SD cards, try to format it there, it worked for me. Second, I gave my camera to my brother and my memory card crapped out on me AGAIN! So, I was lucky enough to format it with my Playstation 3. If you have a PS3, try using the format tool. If I come up with anymore solutions, I'll hit u up. Hope it works for someone out there... |
| Pako, on Saturday June 21, 2008 06:13:18 PM I had a problem after I low level formatted the card in my camera and then could not read it on the computer. Reformatted using the standard format option (not low level) and everything was fine thereafter. Good Luck. |
