Hello,

My computer will not let me download any free anti-spyware or adware. I have recently gone back to Internet Exporer after MozillaFireFox seemed to crap out. I suspect I have some issues with spyware and adware. My system doesn't seem to be respponding to my existing anti-spyware and adware removal tools. Help

I have Windows XP home edition

Thanks

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Back up all your important files, then do a system recovery. This should wipe out all infections. When done, U'll have 2 start all over....as though u just bought your pc. Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.........Update all definitions of your Anti-Virus, run a full system scan 2 b sure that u haven't been compromised again with pesty critters. U should b good 2 go again...............good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have owned my computer since 2002 or 2003 and have never had to start over, even when I had Trojan Worms years ago when my kids still used my computer and it would shut off after a few seconds. There was away to remove the problem. Are you sure that what you have suggested is the only solution to my current problem? I did read thru the forums and went into my Tools and turned off the third party cookies (?) which allows these problems to access my computer. That has sped up my computer somewhat. I have never backed up my computer, what's involved?

Thanks for your advice and insight.

U don't have 2 start over.............U can always try 2 rid your infections using various anti-viruses. But it's gonna take some work. U should always back up your important files, whether they r software, shareware, music files or what have u.
