How to delete write protected files from pen

Hello,
I have Kingston 32GB pen drive.I am unable to delete files in it . When i am trying to delete file the message is displayed " write protection" . please help me on it , i want to delete it .

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

It can be virus, Just format and then you can use the pen drive as normal.

1)opon task manager
2)and also command prompt.
3)in process tab right click on the explorer and select end process.
4)now type inthe command prompt "format K:"
if ur pendrive drive letter is K:
click enter.
if it asks Y/N enter Y.
ur pendrive will get formatted.
5)now inthe task manager click on "application tab"
on the bottom click "new task" type "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe"
then press OK.
you will get solved.
if at all u didnt succeed post ur query again.

I've got a kingston 32 gb pendrive. I've followed the following steps. Its showing in the command prompt that cannot format the pendrve, it is write protected..what can i do in this case?

Hi i have Transcend 8GB,it shows 7.45GB free space.but i'm not able to store date up to free space,can store only 4GB of data,it shows write protection,hope u ll help me.

When autoru.inf virus effect yr pendrive den it will show write protected so u use software i know about two software 1st one is autorunremover and 2nd one is smartvirusremover u can dounload both software from www.google.com very easly u type software name in google and the software link will come in google u dounload software from dat link ..............................tc of yr pc

mr. sanjay it is a un solvable problem. But u can use ur pen drive by copying small files big files canot be copyed like movies

Hey friends its a virus. this virus is autorun.....and unable to window to format..............it can only be formated on that system frm whr u got that virus.........................its thw only way bcoz i m also facing the same problem with kingston32gb pen derive..........

Steps :
1. Go to start button --> run ----> type cmd -->press enter
2. type " attrib autorun.inf -s -h -r " press enter ______________ replace your file name with autorun.inf.
3. type del autorun.inf .......

Hi if you have WIN RAR in you machine goto all programs >WIN RAR > WIN RAR and select your pen drive from the list not by going to file - open archive.When you go to you pen drive then you will be able to see the autorun.inf and some hidden folders like recycler.Delete all unknown files.and then go to cmd and format K: and press enter.Where as K is the Pen drive. This should work it worked for me.Let me know how it goes.But if your formating the pendrive try it on your own machine.not in any other machine.

1. Open Registry Editor by typing regedit in Run dialog.

2. Navigate to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\

3. Find a sub key inside it named “StorageDevicePolicies”.

4. Now find a Dword key named "Writeprotect"

5. Modify this key 1 to 0.

6. Click OK, and remember to restart the PC

Hello friends...I had the same problem as everyone here had..ie. I couldnt delete or move files within my pendrive nor I could format it...I couldnt find the write protect button too...but here's a shortcut..try cutting folders from he pendrive and paste it on some location in ur comp...then u can delete it from the computer...Voila!!that works well...If this comment has worked for any of you please do reply...:)

U use smart virus remover software for removing autorun.inf files u can easily dounload this software from google kkkkkkkkkkk
