Toshiba Computer--screen whiteClosed

Question

Hello, 
I went to turn my laptop back on, and the screen is now white/light gray. The screen is not broken or anything, so I'm confused why it all of a sudden turned white.
I rebooted it and everything, took out the battery, and the AC adaptor.
The screen remained white, then another faded screen said that there was a problem with the start up.
How do I fix this?


Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 8.0
