Reading my Word docs?

kateMC, on Thursday February 21, 2008 01:30:01 PM
Hi there!

I have to admit I’m a real newbie and I’m sorry if my question sounds stupid…

I just got Window Vista and install it on my laptop, but it didn't come with a Word program so I can't open any of my documents I saved on a CD.

Could anyone help me on that cause I'm so confused and frustrated.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
You can download and try OpenOffice Suite which is free, and compatible with all other major office suites.

If you download star office from Google, which is pack similar to, Mirosoft Office, then go to file, wizzard and documnet converter; from there follow instrucions and your documents will be ready to read, edit put them on a PDF format. First you have to open a Google account. If you need an invitation let me know and I will be glad to send you an invitation.

Good luck, and sorry if I made a grammar or misspelling mistake(s)

Fernando

You may download a free Word viewer from Microsoft that will allow you to view (but not create) Word documents. Here is the address:
http://www.microsoft.com/...

Also, as Aquarelle wrote it, if you want something more useful, you can download the free, open source suite, OpenOffice.org, which additionally has a spreadsheet and presentation module – you’ll also have an Excel-like, and Powerpoint-like. Moreover, the OpenOffice suite is compatible with Microsoft files.
