Hi................ Friend it is simple...............

1.U have install driver for Wifi or connect modem using cable.

2.Then Set IP to assign automatically

3.Now create a new network connection from LAPTOP and dail it...

NOTE: U have share this connection to use internet surf from Desktop......

4.NOw there is no need to switch on the PC................

If you have bsnl broadband type ll modem the it has inbuilt wifi, you don't have to use another wifi device, just go to bsnl modem setup page, typing 192.168.1.1 and set PPPoE connection, thats it..... but now anybody can access your wifi connection, to secure that, go to wan set authentication type WPA, then put PSK code... this is your wifi password...

All u have to do is open Internet explorer and in the address bar u type in 192.168.1.1 an hit enter.This will take u to the modem admin page. Here use the default username and password which is " admin " in both cases to log into the modem console . on the left hand side you will see connection types, choose PPPoE and then on the right hand side of the screen you will get page where it will ask for the username and password again. Here you provide the user name and password provided to you by bsnl . The next few screens just leave them as it is and simply click next . On the last screen click on Save and Reboot button. This will reboot the modem and you will see the lights blinking on the modem . wait till all 4 lights are more or less stable . Then go to the Network connections tab on your PC or laptop and select right click on the icon Local Area connection. Select properties and in the next dialog box select Intenet protocol ( tcp /ip) and then click on properties. make sure Obtain Ip adress automatically and Obtain DNS automatically are selected . click on Ok and close . VIOLA !!! you have the Intenet at your fingertips

kindly tell me how can I connect two or more computers through Broad Band modem. When I connect the computer the second one is disconnect automatically.

You need to go to properties and then advanced settings ......enable sharing and the select the type as wireless connection .....turn on WiFi of both the devices or if u dont have WiFi the connect both the devices by ethernet cable to the modem ...the other devicewill be automatically connected to the internet .....u dont need to dial nything fr this device

I have bsnl broadband type II modem .
i have ppoe setting . the problem is that it gets disconnected when i leave my laptop ideal for 5-6 min.
do i have to do any settings?

Sir i hve prblm in connecting actually whn i connect the net through wifi in lptp it connect for sme time mostly fr 15min n thn it discnt n thre is wrtn a cnt is pending wht can i do fr ths plz gve me a solution

You can enter user name and password in pppoe_0_0_35_1 service then you can use many computer's same time without any problem :)....
