Trouble with itunes version 8.0. and 7.7.1.

Hello,
im having trouble getting my old itunes back. I tried to download the new version but it keeps having problems with quicktime so I went back to the old one and now there is an error message saying the i downloaded a version of my music library so I cant open up any itunes at all. can you help?
