Hello,

I would like to connect the hard disk from a laptop (Samsung SpinPoint M40 series) in an external enclosure to another laptop to get data from it. It says on the DELL website that the measurements of my hard disk are: Height, 0.37 inches; Width 3.94 inches; Depth 2.75 inches. Should I use a 2.5" or 3.5" IDE/ATA External Enclosure? Or another one?

Thank you,
KH

Hi there,

All laptops use hard drive of 2.5'' and desktop pc 3.5'',so you need to identify yourself if its sata or ide, then purchase appropriately and as you mentioned you need to remove hard drive from another laptop then better you take it with you to the store from where it will be pruchased.

Thanks
