Hello,
Each processes will occupy some memory space in RAM. So stop the unncessary
processes from running so that you can save the memory space.
Click on Start --> Run --> Type msconfig and click on OK.
Click on "Startup" tab and uncheck the checbox for the unnecessary startup
items --> Restart your PC and check the number of processes.
If you are not sure which process belong to which application in task manager
then download this file named "Process Explorer". Click on the below link.

Extract it and double-click on "procexp".
If you double-click on any process, it will display the details about that process.
Just end the unnecessary process by right-clicking on it and selecting kill
process. Alternate way is press "Delete" key.
Note : Don't try to kill the "Microsoft Corporation" processes.
Note : If you kill any process or end the process it will again appear when you
restart your PC. All you have to do is find which application is using that process
and then uncheck the option over there.
Example : Nero provides the indexing services, so you have to uncheck the
indexing services option in nero scout to stop it running in the process.

Dear Avantika,
Normally there are many processes that run in the background and if there is 52 processes running, it all depends on your RAM and Virtual Memory.

i can tell you if you have malicious malware on your computer and infected process using this software:

make a scan and save the log.
