Actually you can "remove" data in a sense. I have done this in the past with CDRs used for small backups, but don't see that it would work any differently with recordable DVDs. Basically as long as the disc is not completely full you can write new data to the disc. When that happens a new "directory" of the disc contents is created for the new data and the old directory (and the data) is no longer accessible. The original data is still there technically, but would be inaccessible by most users. Now, if you are talking about a DVD-RW, then by all means the dat may be "removed". |
