HELP!!! Word is frozen

Hello, I am in the middle of typing a final (which of course has not been saved, as far as I know) and is due tomorrow and the little round rainbow icon keeps spinning anywhere I try to click on my Word screen. How can I get it to stop so I can save my work????? Help!!!!!

Well, depending on the version of word, it makes a backup copy of it every so often. When you restart your computer and try to resume working on that file it should restore it from it's backup copy. Good Luck!
