| I had this problem with an old 64MB jump drive. I did some hunting around on HWA as well as Googling other forums. The general agreement seemed to be that the drive was simply dead. I tried changing all the permissions, attrib in CMD, and even logging into Linux as "root" (the equivilent of Microsoft's "Administrator") to no avail. I was able to back the files up to another drive, and they regained their permission settings, but from what I read, the drive was simply dead. Thanks for any advice you may give me.
Jeff Reply to Jeff | 46 jegan, on Apr 28, 2009 5:54:17 pm BSTHai jeff,,
defenitly you will be getting the tab storage devices between still images and system restores under the control tab, please check it out otherwise your operating system may be correpted... please check it out
thanks
jegan Reply to jegan | 75 Dmode, on Aug 4, 2009 9:33:22 am BSTDear jegan
Your advice is prefect actually the problem has nothing with the devices but windows problem occur. I tried everything under safe modes, special software and so on/ even bought a new flash memory and just from first time it display that the new devices is write protected /again same problem/. So the solution is run - > regedit ->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CONTROL -> StorageDevicePolicies ->WriteProtect /double click and change value from 1 to 0/. After this operation no problem /and previous flash still working :)/. Thanks again. Reply to Dmode |
