Hello,

My mouse port does not seem to want to work anymore. I've got to the point where i've reinstalled windows 95 and I dont even get a cursor come up on the screen and have to use the keyboard. The mouse that i was using on tha machine seems to work fine on any other computer. I've opened the computer up and moved the jumpers to clear the bios, still, no mouse. It's an award bios and i cant find where the PS2 port settings are... i have no idea why it's stopped working.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hai

Do you have the mouse plugged into the correct PS/2 port?

On a desktop Mboard, it's the one closest to the Mboard and the outside of your case. It probably won't work in the other one, although there are a few older Mboards ( e.g. some made by Intel ) where the mouse or keyboard will work in either port.

Most laptops have a single PS/2 port that is wired such that it can be used for either a PS/2 mouse or keyboard if you need to use both, there are standard Y wiring adapters that will allow you to connect and use both.

You can always use a USB connected mouse, or a serial port connected mouse instead.
