Text Document gone from NEW menu?!

Posté par hardman34, le Wednesday April 9, 2008 10:32:58 AM
Hello,

I just got a little issue and need a registry-wizard to help me out.

My right-click> New menu used to let me create a new folder, shortcut, bitmap or text document. Just lately the text document option has vanished.

I've gone to regedit.> HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT> .txt> and checked that shellnew is there. It was, along with a persistantHandler folder.

I also created a new ShellNew, just in case, with a NullFile string value.

The option for a new text document is still missing, so I'm out of ideas.

Can anybody tell me how to fix this ?

Thanks!
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0
