How to install software

Hello,


I just uninstalled suse 10.3 which runs stable.

I downloaded " seamonkey ", but what file must i Open/Unpack to install the browser.

Windows always has the "setup-files" to install a programmn, what about linux?

Apperciate any advice.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello


Well, in Suse the file extension is .prg for packages [ a package in Linux is usually called an " Application" in Windows]. Many Linux packages come as source files. So look at the conents, and see if there are files named ' configure' and 'Makefile'.

If so, read the included README in that folder to get proper directions on how to compile the program from source.
